The Escape by Discover card is one of the top rated mileage credit cards on the market. It offers ways to earn miles faster than other cards, and a large initial bonus where cardholders can earn up to 25,000 miles.

Cardholders earn 1,000 miles every month that they use their card to make a purchase. This continues for 25 months until the cardholder has earned as much as 25,000 miles. Simultaneously, those that have the Escape By Discover card will have the option of earning unlimited double (2x) miles on all of their business and personal purchases. There is no maximum amount of miles you can earn - no cap whatsoever.

Like all Discover miles rewards, these miles never expire and can be used to receive free airline, hotel, car rental or cruise. Through Discover's partners, cardholders can also cash in their miles for gift cards and merchandise from almost 100 retail partners, or even for cash. These awards start at just 1,000 miles - you could redeem an award every month from the bonus points alone!

The miles also never expire as long as you use the card at least once every 18 months, and do not fail to make the minimum payment in two consecutive months. Discover offers an autopay feature, so making the minimum payment each month is made easy.

All mileage balances and earnings are posted online and printed on the statement folllowing the close of each billing cycle. Cardholders can redeem their miles 24/7 on the website, or by calling the number on the back of their card.

There are no blackout dates or restrictions on use - your points can be used how you like and when you like.

This card does have a $60 annual fee, but users who take advanatge of the bonus miles program can easily recoup this cost in their first few months of usage alone.

When you shop online in the ShopDiscover Mall, you can earn an additional two (2) miles for every $1.00 you spend - this way you could earn up to 4% back on your purchases.

Like other card programs, Discover offers the usual enhanaced benefits such as lost luggage insurance, car insurance, travel delay insurance, and cancellation insurance.

The Travel Delay insurance is noteworthly because it provides up to $150 per day to cover unexpected food and lodging expenses, and the Trip Cancellation Insurance will reimburse you up to $2500 to travel at a different time should you become unable to travel or become ill. Lost Luggage insurance also covers losses up to $2,500, and the rental car insurance covers up to $50,000 with zero deductible. The card also comes with $500,000 flight accident insurance.

For most cardholders, the card ovvers a 0% introductory APR for balance transfers, and a 0% purchase APR for the first 6 months.
